The class is signed up for cross-country skiing lessons with the ‘Ski S’Cool’ program. The dates are February 3rd, 7th and 14th. The program cost is $30 ($20 for Ski S’Cool, plus $10 for transportation). You can pay either cash or by cheque made out to ÉWES. I will be sending home an information handout and registration form for the Ski S’Cool shortly. Thank you for filling out the form and sending it back to me as soon as possible. Please also send in the $30 fee at the same time. Ideally, I would like to collect all money before the break. Also, if you know your child’s shoe size in European size, please send me an email to let me know or note it down on the registration sheet. Thanks!
Starting Monday, December 2nd, we will have an Advent calendar of kindness in the class. Each morning, someone will open a note from the advent calendar and read it to the class. The students will be asked to do a different act of kindness each day. Please check in with your child in the evenings of a school day and ask him/her about it. Thank you!
I wish you all happy holidays and a happy new year. It has been a pleasure spending time with your child and learning together. Thank you for all your help and support.
October has gone by in the blink of an eye! We had a busy Halloween week in class with beautiful costumes and fun activities. I hope you had a great time trick or treating. The students shared some of their trick or treat stories. I uploaded some photos of the students onto the class website, please take a look.
Below are important dates for the month of November.
On Wednesday, November 6th, a visitor from WCB will come to the class to do a safety awareness lesson with the students.
Scholastic orders are due on Thursday, November 7th. There is one more set of pamphlets going home before Christmas. In the past, I had parents ask about putting in secret orders without their child knowing about it, so they could order some items to put under the tree. If this is something you would like to do, you can put your order into an envelope and just put a note in it that says ‘secret order’. This way, once it comes in, I will send you an email and won’t send it home with your child.
Friday, November 8th, is a PD day, no classes.
Monday, November 11th, is Remembrance Day, no classes.
On Tuesday, November 19th, we will be going skating at the CGC. We are skating from 9:00 - 9:45. Please let me know if you can join us to help tie skates or join us on the ice. Thanks!
Friday, November 29th, is pizza day and dress up. Theme is 80s for those who would like to participate.
We started Unit 3 in Fundations which focusses on digraphs. The parent handout for unit 3 is going home on Monday, so you can see which trick words and other spelling words we are working on.
